I HATE IT

what kind of "revival' we want if we aren't even willing to sacrifice just half a half hour during a retreat to pray?

EVERYTHING is centered around to please people, can we look to please God  just a little bit???

Take Me Deeper

by Don Moen

Verse 1
There is a longing
only You can fill
A raging tempest
only You can still
My soul is thirsty Lord
to know You as I'm known
Drink from the river
that flows before Your throne

Chorus
Take me deeper
Deeper in love with You
Jesus hold me close in Your embrace
Take me deeper
Deeper than I've ever been before
I just want to love You more and more
How I long to be deeper in love

Verse 2
Sunrise to sunrise
I will seek Your face
Drawn by the Spirit
to the promise of Your grace
My heart has found in You
a hope that will abide
Here in Your presence
forever satisfied
How I long to be deeper in love

extreme

what is extreme anyway in the biblical sense...?

if anyone who's trying to follow God's words to a further extent then we are accustomed to, or even more than our pastor, should we just label the person as extreme without even thinking about it...?  If so, I'd think it's pretty unfortunate...  Would God punish or reward you if you try to live out His words and grab a hold of His promises down to the every last word...?

it's sad when you try to encourage your b/s to be more God minded, the first thing they worry about is what church have you been to lately.  If I ask them to play more video games or watch movies or go shopping nobody would care about a thing.

What do we need to do to have our prayers answered...?

Unfortunately, the answer  is going to disappoint some of us.

It's not about how much "faith" we have
It's not about how many times we pray
It's not about who prays the prayers
It's not about finding the right formula so we can finally manipulate God to do whatever we want Him to do

It's all about the Sovereign  God who chooses to answer the prayers that are within His will.

But wait, didn't Jesus teach us that we need to have faith of a mustard seed in order to move mountains?

True, but we must not confuse the "faith" mentioned by Jesus and the "faith" we usually mistaken it to be... It's not some sort of  baseless self-achieved inner power, that if you have a certain level of that power you'll have the power to manipulate God.  It's all about Him.  That if He is working within our lives, and we learn to understand more and more about His wills from His words and strive to be closer to Him, our prayers would automatically become more pleasing to Him since we'll be longing more for the things that God desires
